Thailand Holidays - Preparing For A Great Vacation!

You're extremely excited because tomorrow you will be going on your wonderful vacation to Thailand. But wait! Here are several things to do before you sleep to make sure that things will go smoothly tomorrow as you start your Thailand vacation...

Check the weather forecast for Thailand. That will give you an idea on the type of clothing you should bring - light clothes if the weather is warm and sunny; a light jacket if it's going to be a bit cool or you're going in the monsoon or wet season.

If rain is a good possibility, bring an umbrella and comfortable rubber slippers (or buy them in Thailand), as when it rains in Thailand it tends to come down hard. And you don't want to be caught out in it!

Conduct one final check of the things you are bringing. Make sure that you have your travel essentials with you: your valid passport, airline ticket, tour vouchers, travel insurance, and credit cards, to name a few. If you are under prescribed medication, make sure to bring your own medicine. While there are drugstores (chemists or pharmacies) in Thailand, they might not carry the exact brand of the medicine so it's often better to bring your own.

Remember to pack your digital camera. And your spare memory cards and batteries as well! You are after all, going to see the sights in beautiful Thailand, so what better way is there to remember them than capturing your vacation in pictures?

For convenience, put all your travel essentials together in one carry-on bag, so that you can keep your valuables with you (instead of having them in the check-in luggage).

How will you get to the airport? If you're not driving yourself to the airport or have no one to drive you there, arrange for a pick-up service instead. This will save you from the hassle of trying to flag a cab (or taxi) on the street to find one that will bring you to the airport. On the other hand, if you're driving yourself to the airport and plan to leave your car at airport parking, be sure to settle the arrangement beforehand.

Call your airline to confirm your booking for your flight. (If required). While most airlines now do not need a reconfirmation, sometimes it helps to call the airline's hotline to update yourself regarding your booking. In this way, you are informed regarding any changes to your flight, if any.

Set your alarm for tomorrow and then get a good night's sleep. This way, you are physically refreshed and recharged when you wake up in the morning. This will help you combat the physical discomfort that riding on an airplane may bring.

And lastly, enjoy your Thailand holidays and make full and good use of your time in Thailand. You'll have an amazing adventure I'm sure of it!
